Rules & Regulations

Our library is dedicated to supporting the academic and personal growth of every student by providing access to a comprehensive collection of books, journals, and digital resources. It serves as a quiet, well-organized space for study, research, and knowledge enhancement. To ensure a smooth and productive experience for all users, we encourage students to follow the library’s guidelines, maintain discipline, and respect the shared resources.

General Instructions for Library Users

  • Every individual entering the library should be a BONAFIDE STUDENT of the College and must have a valid IDENTITY SMART CARD. The Identity smart card should be produced as and when demanded by any of the library staff.
  • Book Condition: Readers should check books for any missing pages or damages before borrowing.
  • Timely Return: Books should be returned promptly after use. Avoid waiting until the due date.
  • Damaged Books: Borrowers are responsible for the full cost of books returned in damaged condition.
  • Lost Books: Any loss must be reported immediately to the Librarian to avoid accumulation of fines.

General Rules

  • Books issued from the reading hall are for in-library use only.
  • Members with a home lending facility deposit may borrow one book at a time for a period of one week.
  • Late Fee: Re.1 per day will be charged for overdue books.

Rules for Students

  • Library Hours: 8:45 AM – 6:00 PM (all working days)
  • Circulation: Books for home reading are issued between 8:45 AM and 6:00 PM.
  • Duplicate Smart Card: Lost cards must be reported to the Librarian. A duplicate card will be issued upon submission of a formal request and payment.
  • Library Fines:
    • Books must be returned by the due date.
    • Reserved or in-house reading materials cannot be taken outside.
    • Overdue fines: Re.1 per day per book.
  • Mutilation of Books:
    • Marking, writing, or damaging library materials is strictly prohibited.
    • The borrower is responsible for any damage unless reported before borrowing.
    • Fines for damage will reflect the cost of repair or replacement.
  • Silence and Discipline:
    • Complete silence must be maintained within the library.
    • Disruptions or rule violations may result in disciplinary action.
    • The Librarian may refer serious cases to the Principal.
